Neighborhood

A lively location close to a Florentine Medici Fortress

Villa Antea is located in a special position: close enough to downtown and away enough to avoid the large crowds that visit every day our city, giving a perfect balance between a quiet stay and the discovery of Florence's treasure.

Quiet Residential Area

The Accademia Gallery (which hosts the Michelangelo's David original sculpture), Central Market, Medici Chapels and main train station Santa Maria Novella are just 10 to 15 minutes away.

The Duomo and Baptistery are 20 minutes walking distance. Two bus lines link the B&B with downtown. The neighborhood is quiet and safe so it is not an issue to come back walking in the evening.

Plus, at the moment of check in, we provide our guests a map with directions and transportation tips to reach the main historical attractions. We will be happy to help you reach the places of your interest.

Lovely Neighborhood

Villa Antea’s neighborhood has retained much of it 1800’s charm, providing one of the most Florentine traditional residential areas right outside the old town.

Restored private villas, tiny squares, a lovely path along the little river that flows near us, and a unique public garden are just few of the interesting sites.

Peaceful Retreat

Close to a Medici Fortress, this used to be a medieval frontier zone where the city’s ancient walls were built. In the early years of the XIX century when Florence started an era of modernization, it became an active area where Florentine families moved from the old-town palaces to build stylish villas, taking advantage of the large green space next to the Mugnone river.

Today it is a lively area where you can find real Florentine restaurants and coffee houses, artisan shops, bakeries, pastry shops and much more to make your trip to Florence a different experience.
